NINE FUNDERS JUST PUT MORE THAN $500 MILLION BEHIND SPECIES RECOVERY.
A new alliance is coordinating five years of targeted recovery funding.

The Species Recovery Alliance brings together nine funders and organizations pledging more than $500 million over five years for threatened-species recovery led by conservation organizations and local partners around the world.
WHAT HAPPENED
Alliance members will align investments instead of pooling them, work with local conservation partners, share knowledge, and measure progress with the IUCN Red List and Green Status. The group says 57% of threatened species need targeted interventions beyond habitat protection.
WHY THIS IS HOPESLOP
Species recovery often fails for want of sustained, coordinated money. This commitment pairs a large budget with measurable species-level outcomes and local implementation—serious infrastructure for bringing populations back.
