FIVE STUDENTS REDIRECTED 30,000 POUNDS OF MEDICAL SUPPLIES.

Project MedBridge built a no-cost pickup and redistribution network for usable hospital surplus—keeping supplies out of landfills and moving them toward clinics that can use them.

FIVE STUDENTS REDIRECTED 30,000 POUNDS OF MEDICAL SUPPLIES.

Project MedBridge, a student-led nonprofit in central Ohio, coordinates pickup of sealed, unexpired hospital supplies and routes them to clinics and medical missions. The group reports more than 30,000 pounds redirected to over 40 countries.

WHAT HAPPENED

The team created a simple operational bridge: hospitals arrange free pickup, volunteers sort and inventory recoverable goods, and partner organizations move supplies to places with documented need. Reasons to Be Cheerful reported an estimated $250,000 in goods from one OhioHealth stream alone.

WHY THIS IS HOPESLOP

The hopeful part is not charity theater; it is logistics. A small student team found value sitting inside an institutional waste stream and built a repeatable path from surplus to use.
