A RARE-DISEASE DRUG REPORTED ZERO NEW BONE LESIONS THROUGH 84 WEEKS.

Pasatru, an FDA-approved monoclonal antibody for adults with FOP, reported sustained suppression of new abnormal bone growth through an 84-week Phase 3 extension.

WHAT HAPPENED

OPTIMA enrolled 63 adults for a 56-week randomized trial; 58 completed the extension to at least week 84. From week 56 to week 84, investigators observed no new lesions in the Pasatru groups versus nine in placebo. Flare-ups were also lower, but skin and soft-tissue infections rose with dose.

WHY THIS IS HOPESLOP

FOP is relentlessly progressive and extraordinarily rare. An approved treatment showing durable control of new lesions changes the horizon from merely managing damage to preventing some of it.
